Abstract
it is the definitive volume on the relationship between (European - specifically, British) Christianity, and the Masonic order. Hannah describes many masonic rituals in order to demonstrate their religious and quasi-Christian nature. He argues that Freemasonry is an apostate Christian sect. the follow-up to Darkness Visible, a critical expose of the practices of Freemasonry; this one takes the reader into the realms of the Higher degrees. The ceremonies are given in detail: handshakes, passwords, penalties, etc and sound quite ludicrous but the aim of both books is to show that Freemasonry is not compatible with Christianity, for example in administering oaths, despite the presence of several bishops in the hierarchy of the Craft.
